About Chad
To quote the great theologian John Cougar Mellancamp, I was born in a small town. I grew up in Tifton, GA (actually TyTy) and graduated from Tift County High School. I graudated from the greatest University in the land, the University of Georgia, in 2000. Then I graduated with my M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in a short 6 years.
I am currently the Teaching Pastor an Minister of Outreach at the First Baptist Church in LaGrange, GA. I came to FBC around Easter of 2006 as the minister of students. In September of 2008, we launched a contemporary service, and my responsibilities have transitioned to that service full-time. God is doing some great things in our church and I am glad to just be a part of it. My call in ministry eventually is to pastor. I love the Word and love being able to teach it. That is my passion.
I am truly blessed to have a wonderful family. Katie is the love of my life and we have been married for 5 great years. Every day with her is a blessing; we have so much fun! We have the coolest son on the planet, Charlie. He is going to be a scholar, an athlete, a musician, and a Southern gentleman. He is 3 years old and I’m so proud of him. We were so blessed in June to add to our family. On June 12, 2009, our baby girl Molly Kate Cottle joined our family. She is a daddy’s girl already!
I love fresh apple cider from North Georgia and a good steak. I am borderline fanatical about my DAWGS football. I love to fish and to play guitar. I love my Taylor, but right now I’m in an electric guitar/pedal guru mode. My pedals of choice right now are a Visual Sound Route 66 compression/overdrive and a Boss DD6 Digital Delay.
